Tried and tested: The Cleopatra Cleanse at Juice Warrior
There’s a lot to be said for a healthy juice cleanse. Not only does it give your digestive system a well-deserved rest, it also boosts it with nutrients; the lack of fibre in raw juices means the vitamins and enzymes bypass the digestive system and quickly enter the bloodstream.
So, in a bid to right the wrongs of recent over-indulgence quickly and effectively, I opted for Juice Warrior’s new Cleopatra Cleanse which uses the best ingredients for healthier skin. Juice Warrior established Scotland’s first certified organic, raw, cold-pressed juice company and the two-day cleanse was delivered to my door from the new sleek shop in Waverley Arches, Edinburgh. Juicing with these guys couldn’t be simpler.
After a shot of Chlorella juice my breakfast was the super refreshing Pillarbox (watermelon, lime and mint leaves) followed by a delicious mid-morning ‘snack’ of Pina-Kale-Ada (cucumber, pineapple, coconut water, spinach and kale). Lunch consisted of Sweet Beet (carrot, apple, beetroot, lemon and ginger) followed by Evergreen (cucumber, apple, kale and ginger) a couple of hours later. Nothin’ Fancy (carrot and green apple) preceded my evening treat of Vanilla Dream (almond milk, filtered water, almonds, dates, vanilla and pink Himalayan salt).
The juices were delicious and, being so nutrient-dense, were also fairly substantial. So much so that I didn’t even need to eat any light meals (salads and soups are allowed). They also curbed my sugar and caffeine cravings and, two days later, I felt less sluggish and more alert. My skin glowed and my hair shone. What a difference 48 little hours can make; I’d wholeheartedly recommend a juice cleanse from Juice Warrior to kickstart new healthy habits in 2017.
A two-day Cleopatra Juice Cleanse costs £100.
