Amanda Hamilton’s top five juicing tips
We turned to expert nutritionist, Amanda Hamilton and asked for her advice on how to juice the right way. If you're in need of a health boost, read on...
1. Don’t go it alone. Switching to a juice and broth diet is challenging and there’s a lot of preparation and cleaning to do.
2. If you juice at home, choose fruits and vegetables that have a high water content to get the most yield out of your shopping basket.
3. When juicing vegetables, start with vegetables that you already enjoy and slowly introduce new ingredients. If aversion kicks in because a celery juice churns your stomach, then the juicing habit simply isn’t going to stick.
4. Try to have a mental and body detox. There’s nothing like a bit of time out and perspective if you want to kick start healthier habit.
5. If you want to get the benefit of a nutrient-dense green juice, add ¼ to ½ lemon or lime to the juice to counter any bitterness.
