Four small steps to a healthier you
If you've had that post-pizza surge of guilt one too many times, perhaps it's time to take a good look at your diet and take action. Yes, we know it's easier said than done. That's why we turned to nutritional therapist, Frances Bavin, and asked for her simplest steps to a healthier diet.
Write down what you would like to achieve
Set yourself a few targets but only take on one at a time. When you feel the first has become habit, move to the next. For example, Week One: have a bowl of muesli for breakfast, Week Two: aim to eat your five a day…
Don’t have bad food in the house
If it’s not there and you get a craving, you're more likely to just forget about it.
Batch cook
When you cook dishes like soups, casseroles or curries, make more than you need and freeze the extra for an easy meal on other nights.
A lapse is not a relapse
If you have a bad day, don’t give up. Just keep eating the right foods the day after.
