i-on events: Tickets on sale for exclusive late lunch at The Wee Restaurant
Good things come to those who wait. Especially on Saturday 25 August when The Wee Restaurant on Fredrick Street is inviting i-on readers to come try a three-course meal from the a la carte menu at plat du jour prices.
The Wee restaurant, run by husband and wife team, Craig and Vikki Wood, is a great wee spot for lunch and dinner, serving lunch all day on Saturdays. And while the Plat du Jour offers a smaller menu and light lunch option, the a la carte is a feast for the eyes, showcasing Craig’s passion for Scottish ingredients.
You’ll be able to choose from dishes including Orkney crab salad with herb mayonnaise, micro greens and walnut toast; confit duck leg and puy lentil salad, spiced chorizo, crispy artichokes and fried duck egg; roasted sea bass fillet with crushed new potatoes, tomato, chilli, fennel and octopus salsa; and a warm pain perdu with summer berries.
The three course a la carte menu normally costs £36 but i-on readers will pay £20 plus booking fee, for one day only. And, we’re throwing in a welcome drink of Harris Gin and tonic, with the option to add The Wee Restaurant’s seasonal syrup made with Scottish raspberries, making the 'house aperitif’.
