Lip fillers: Tried and tested
Cath Tait takes the plunge and plumps up her pout with the help of lip fillers.
After a year of looking in the mirror wondering where my top lip had gone, I finally plucked up the courage to get fillers. Of course, I’d seen the celebrity trout pout pictures but I was reassured that Dr Nestor was one of Scotland’s best cosmetic doctors and would only ever aim to enhance his clients’ appearance, not completely change it.
From the moment I walked into his clinic on Dundas Street, I knew I’d made the right decision. Dr Nestor talked me through why my lips had changed over the years and explained that by following my lip line, he could envisage how my lips had been back in my younger days and would use this to get a lovely natural look.
First my lips were numbed then Dr Nestor got to work injecting the filler. I’d been told the injections would really sting, but it was all over pretty quickly and relatively painlessly. Afterwards, Dr Nestor simply advised me not to wear make up for 24 hours and gave me a little tin of Vaseline to apply to help with the healing. And that was that.
After just a day of swelling, I could see the results and I was thrilled - my lips were back to how they were in the good old days and look completely natural - totally worth the £450 cost for the treatment.
