Mother Plucker: Shavata Brow Studio opens at Harvey Nichols
Susie Lowe trades in her tweezers for threading guru Shavata Singh...
Anyone who’s seen my school photographs could be forgiven for thinking I was Frida Kahlo and Noel Gallagher’s love child. I was therefore an early adopter when it came to tweezers and have never looked back. Since eyebrows have become a ‘thing’ recently,I’ve considered reshaping my thin, upside down ticks into something more luscious but been a little apprehensive that I might end up with the appearance of two great big slugs above my eyes.
ENTER SHAVATA:
So when I heard the Queen of Eyebrows herself was coming to town,I jumped at the opportunity of an appointment. Shavata Singh has built up an empire of brow studios and it’s easy to see why –reassuring, calm and effortlessly stylish,I instantly trusted her with my face. The threading treatment wasn’t as painful as I’d anticipated, much the same as waxing and it took around the same amount of time. Shavata also recommended a brow tint, something I’d never considered before but it was a revelation.
THE VERDICT:
My eyebrows look neat and groomed and I think my face looks much fresher.I’ve had loads of compliments so will definitely be back for another appointment.
