The UK is famous for scenic road trips. But whether you were born and raised on the isles or just popping over for a visit - you'll be needing a bit of guidance on the best road trips we have to offer. Here's five of our favourites. 

1. Scotland's North Coast 500

2. The New Forest

New ForestSituated in beautiful and relaxed surroundings, a drive through the New Forest is the perfect option for those city dwellers looking for a quick escape to nature. Less than one minute’s drive from the M27, you’ll find yourself surrounded by picturesque villages and free-roaming wildlife in no time. A mini road trip, if you will.

3. The Dark Hedges, Ballymore, Ireland

Dark HedgesGuaranteed to impress any Game of Thrones fan, a trip to the infamous ‘King’s Road’ will score you major points. The enchanting avenue of beech trees has become a popular spot for tourists in Northern Ireland and while it cannot be driven down due to recent damage, there is nearby parking available at the Hedges Estate Hotel.

4. The Cotswolds

Covering 45 miles, the aptly named Romantic Road takes you through the famed beauty of the Cotswold hill villages, river valleys and charmingly idyllic country pubs. 

5. The Lake District

For a truly romantic experience, the Keswick to Borrowdale to Buttermere drive covers 38 miles and allows you to take in some of the most stunning sights such as Lodore Falls waterfall and Honister Slate Mine.
