Topshop Glasgow's new Personal Shopper on trends and bold colourways...
Tell us about a bit about you?
I’ve been a Topshop Personal Shopper for just over a year at the Glasgow Argyle Street store.
I love my job and I love styling clients for everything from special occasions to holiday wardrobes - there’s nothing more satisfying than making someone feel happy and confident in their individual style.
Describe a typical day at work:
Firstly, I check my appointment diary for the day.
No one day is the same; I could be styling a bride for her honeymoon wardrobe in the morning, and a student for her graduation in the afternoon or a regular client who’s looking for a seasonal update.
Clients book online and provide their dress and shoe sizes in advance so I use this information to prep for the appointment, putting together outfits tailored to their likes and dislikes.
When the client arrives I’ll show them to their Personal Suite and take them over the items I have chosen based on their brief.
It’s important for me to build a good relationship with my clients to ensure they walk away feeling relaxed and happy with the experience.
Once one appointment is done, it’s a quick turnaround prep for the next.
How would you describe your signature style?
I would say it’s quite experimental, I never stick to one look. I love to mix it up whilst staying quite trend-driven.
Top style tip for the season?
Inject colour into your wardrobe. Pink with red is my favourite colourway and I love yellow too - try mixing block colours together for a bold look. I’m also a fan of polka dots, vintage florals, micro sunglasses and thick soled trainers.
Who do you follow on Instagram for style inspo?
I love @ellenvlora, @sincerelyjules and @lissyroddyy.
