But at the other end of the scale there’s those who’ve fully succumbed to the power of wanderlust, for whom travel is a constant itch that must be scratched. It’s called dromomania – the uncontrollable urge to wander; we’ve hand-picked four people with this uncontainable drive, a disparate bunch with only a well-stamped passport and a bounty of anecdotes in common.

Angela Maxwell is walking around the world, that’s the long and short of it. There’s little more than a loose itinerary, a tent, $2,000, occasional donations and some basic supplies. On 02 May 2014, she set off from Oregon to England via Australia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Georgia, Turkey, Sardinia, Sicily and Scotland, and she’s still going.Find out more here.
