Win a pair of tickets to Eugene Onegin at the Edinburgh International Festival
THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.
Congratulations to our winner, Jessie Turner!
It’s nearly that time of year again, when the excitement levels in Edinburgh reach fever pitch and the city takes centre stage around the world of art and culture.
Eugene Onegin marks the return of Komische Oper Berlin to the International Festival for Tchaikovsky’s best-loved opera about the hopes, desires and failures of four young people who realize in the end: happiness was just within reach. Warm, heart-felt melodies, choruses inspired by Russian folk music and a richly instrumented orchestral sound spirit audiences away into the inner worlds of the protagonists, who – as so often with Tchaikovsky – cannot escape their destiny. Playful, radical and perceptive, Artistic Director Barrie Kosky is one of the most renowned working in opera today while rising star Asmik Grigorian takes the central role of Tatyana.
