FIRST UP, THE EAST COAST

• Luca's: Made to a family recipe, the queues at the parlours in Morningside and Musselburgh say it all.
• Affogato Gelato: A massive selection of stunning gelatos with vegan, vegetarian and no-added options.
• Mary's Milk Bar: Serving traditional gelato in unusual flavours in the Grassmarket.
• Monny Portobello: Artisan Italian gelato and sorbets made daily in this Gelateria by the beach.

AND OVER ON THE WEST

• Crolla's Gelateria: Byres Road favourite serving up milkshakes and over 60 flavours for more than 120 years.
• Colpi Ice Cream: A Milngavie and Glasgow instituion, making fresh ice cream from a family recipe, using milk from the shores of Loch Lomond.
• Loop & Scoop: Delicious gelato, ice cream sundaes and 100 per cent vegan churros. They're good at doing them too.
• Langside Cafe: Serving great ice cream, from traditional vanilla to rum and raisin, since the 1920s.
