Beecraigs Festive Forest: West Lothian's all-in-one Christmas attraction

2 Mins

Save yourself a few precious winter days at the one-stop shop for all things festive

When it comes to planning family fun over the festive season, the options are endless – Santa’s grottos, Christmas markets, light shows, carol concerts, even that tree you still need to buy (and decorate). Thankfully a new Christmas attraction in West Lothian offers all of these in one.

Beecraigs Festive Forest is a winter wonderland inviting families to immerse themselves in seasonal sights, sounds and flavours. Located in the beautiful Beecraigs Country Park near Linlithgow, it’s open from 05 December until Christmas Eve. And, to make sure you tick off every one of the experiences, we’ve put together a handy to-do list...

SEE SANTA

Beecraigs Visitors’ Centre has been transformed into Santa’s Grotto with elves, storytelling, a magic postbox for all those letters to the North Pole, and the man himself who will be dishing out gifts to the kids.

ADMIRE LIGHTS

Follow the 1.5km illumination trail through the forest where you will be dazzled with breathtaking festive illuminations, special effects and atmospheric sounds.

ENJOY ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR

As well as fun rides and face painting, there’s a silent disco and a live music stage so every generation of the family can get in the spirit of things.

INDULGE IN ANOTHER MULLED WINE

Tempting stalls will offer an array of food and drink from fire-roasted marshmallows, toffee apples and hot chocolate to German sausages, warm cider and mulled wine.

BUY A TREE

Locally-grown, quality Christmas trees will be available in a special section of the park. It’s a nicer experience than the queues at Ikea.

The forest is open daily from 05 to 24 December from 3.30pm (last entry 8.30pm). Tickets for the Illumination Trail can be booked online in advance at beecraigsfestiveforest.com. Adults, £15; Children, £11 (under threes enter free).
